During science this week we explored material properties and participated in an engineering task. We pretended that we were stranded on an island and needed to create a comfortable hat that would protect us from the sun and also help soak up the sweat. Each child was given certain materials that we tested for comfort, stiffness, and waterproofness. They were then asked to create a hat with materials they had. They were very creative!
