Wash Day!

In Library this week we learned all about how laundry was done long ago.  Ms. Stanley read Wash Day by Eve Bunting and  brought in her wash tub, wash board, wringer, and sad iron.  Your children were able to use the tools to act out how laundry was done long ago!

Hinesburg History Walk

We had beautiful weather for our walking field trip today! We learned so much about Hinesburg's history. Kate Myhre is a member of the Hinesburg Historical Society and she led us on this trip through town.
The while building has been around for a long time!  Students used to dance around the Maypole on the field in front of it. One of the entrances used to be only for the boys and the other was only for the girls!

H & M Auto supply used to be a school house!

Three churches used to stand near where Good Times Cafe is today.

Lantman's used to be an Inn!  It only cost $2.50 to stay for one night.  That price included meals!

Fun-O-Ween!

Fun-O-Ween on Monday was a ton of fun! We spent the afternoon in costumes rotating through many enjoyable Halloween activities.  Some of the activities included bingo, bean bag toss, spooky stories, ring toss, musical chairs, pin the spider on the web, and more!
