During science this week we explored material properties and participated in a"Mad Hatter" engineering task. We pretended that we were stranded on an island and needed to create a comfortable hat that would protect us from the sun and absorb sweat. Each child was given certain materials that he/she tested for comfort, stiffness, and if it was water proof. The students were then asked to create a hat with these materials.
