Welcome to second grade!

We are off to a great start in second grade! We have been busy learning routines and making new friends!

We make time for reading every day! Below your children are enjoying books with a partner.

On Thursday we escaped some of heat and humidity with some sprinkler time and Popsicles.

Seed and sample day!

We participated in seed and sample day!  Our class planted basil and kale seeds that will grow in our school garden!  Before planting we sampled basil, kale, and some other vegetables.  Yum!

Penguins!

As part of our measurement unit in math the students learned about penguins!  They carefully measured and studied penguin features to create real life like painted penguins.  In the pictures, you will see Emperor, King, Rockhopper, Gentoo, Chinstrap, and Little Blue Penguins!  Each student also wrote an informational report to accompany their penguin. The penguins are beautiful!  This is a class full of talented artists!
